1839當代藝廊將於11月份展出陳敬寶個展─「天上人間」，此系列作品之拍攝計畫始於2001年底，藝術家以相對冷峻的角度，由自身觀察這片土地上的符號，重新思索台灣土地對他所顯示的意義，在自然與人文交互迎拒之間，尋求可能被開啟的隱喻。

當迴避了「美化」與「浪漫化」之後，無論是供奉神明的廟宇、人類的住屋及祭祀亡靈的墳地，這些由人類形塑而成的地形地貌，得以極盡貼近真實的形式，忠實地反應集體同一性概念的生活模式與思維模式，於是意識到土地的廣袤(ㄇㄠˋ)，其實同時作為神、人、亡靈的居所，故曰「天上人間」。

本藝廊將於11月7日(六)下午2:30舉行開幕茶會，歡迎您共襄盛舉，支持國內攝影藝術家。11月21日(六)下午2:30邀請林志明教授與藝術家陳敬寶對談，深入解析「天上人間」攝影作品，期待您的蒞臨!

光與手的刻畫：十九世紀攝影技法巡禮

1839年銀版（達蓋爾）攝影術發明，經法國政府的公佈而獲認定。今年恰逢攝影術發明170年，相機、記錄媒介歷經持續而不間斷的改良，促使攝影術獲致驚人的發展，如今更在數位化技術及電腦高性能的推波助瀾下，讓圖像的變形成為理所當然之事，形式更為自由且不受限。

「光與手的刻畫：十九世紀攝影技法巡禮」，展出日本名攝影家港千尋及1839當代藝廊的收藏，涵蓋19世紀後半至20世紀初期所製出的攝影照片，本展除回顧十九世紀攝影技法的發展外（自攝影發明至其後半個世紀），尤其關注於拍攝後的照片，再予以手工修復的後製（post production）─即透過修復、著色、剪切、添加文字、甚至刻意傷害照片等技法，後製而成的攝影作品。

本展始從銀版攝影（Daguerreotype）、安布羅攝影（Ambrotype）至玻璃乾板（Dry plate）、蛋白照片（Albumen print）等多樣記錄媒介的呈現，引領觀眾一窺後製處理的情形，在這標榜即時進行影像傳輸的年代，我們不妨停下腳步，凝神注視這些質感細緻的作品，跨越了百年歷史，細細品味時間與光線凝結的姿態。

展題：陳敬寶「天上人間」攝影展

國外女性攝影家 作品聯展

本藝廊將於2009/08/1 (六) ~ 09/27 (日)，展出「女性攝影家聯展」，將有十位國際上知名的女性攝影家共同聯展，作品內容含跨1930年代至20世紀末，呈現於不同時期裡風格迥然不同的作品。

展出中的作品以伊摩根‧康寧漢（Imogen Cunningham）為首的花卉系列作品開始，繼而以拍攝知名女舞蹈家瑪莎‧葛蘭姆（Martha Graham）的芭芭拉‧摩根（Barbara Morgan）；80年代構成主義代表的芭芭拉‧凱絲登（Barbara Kasten）以幾何圖形呈現的抽象建築作品；運用多元材料創作的奧莉薇雅‧帕克（Olivia Parker）；發起超現實主義攝影運動的珊蒂‧史蔻蘭徳（Sandy Skoglund），結合了雕塑與裝置的攝影作品；茱蒂‧妲特（Judy Dater）的紀實人像攝影作品系列；運用魚類及植物而創作的今道子（Michiko Kon）；還有雪莉‧史密斯（Shelly J. Smith）；瑪堤娜‧羅培茲（Martina Lopez）；伊娃‧莎頓（Eva Sutton）等等的經典名作，皆在1839當代藝廊展出。

佐藤時啓 (Sato Tokihiro) 攝影展

佐藤時啟(Sato Tokihiro) 是日本當代藝壇中一位知名的攝影藝術家，目前為國立東京藝術大學-先端藝術表現學系准教授，他與光的互動關係是眾所皆知，最著名的創作方式是以獨特的光筆及光鏡，使光線在現實景物與空間中飛躍來闡述光與呼吸。

他的作品深受二十多個世界各國的博物館、美術館及學術企業機構的典藏，包括古根漢美術館、東京都寫真美術館、昆士蘭美術館（布里斯本）、原藝術博物館（東京）、上海美術館、哈佛大學和德意志銀行等典藏。

2009.06/13 (六) ~ 07/26 (日)，佐藤的作品即將在台北的1839當代藝廊與台南的海馬迴光畫館同時展出，藝術家”佐藤時啟”教授也親臨出席參與開幕茶會與座談會。 歡迎您的蒞臨 !

杉本博司 (Hiroshi Sugimoto) 攝影展

「杉本博司（Hiroshi Sugimoto)是我們這個時代最令人尊敬的攝影藝術家之一。他的重要性在於針對藝術、歷史、科學與宗教進行詮釋的攝影題材，將東方哲學思想與西方主流文化完美地結合。」這是國際著名的哈蘇相機基金會（Hasselblad Foundation）對2001年度國際攝影獎得主、日本當代攝影藝術家杉本博司的獲獎評語。

他拍攝是事物的歷史。在「海景」系列中，處理的被攝體是水和空氣。這二種物質可能是時至今日，對人類而言是變化最少的東西，其他世間萬物都隨歲月的流逝而變化，而他的藝術主題正是時間。「海景」系列作品是杉本博司藉由東方禪宗思想，應用到自身作品的最佳明證，也將1970年代中期美國藝壇盛行的極限藝術（Minimal art）發揮得淋漓盡致。這一系列作品曾經在拍賣會上以新台幣6,000萬元左右的高價賣出，是杉本博司所有作品當中的巔峰紀錄。

時至今日，他共發表了13組的系列攝影作品，其中「海景」（Seascapes, 1980-2002）與「劇院」(Theaters, 1975-2001）系列將在1839當代藝廊展出，期待您的蒞臨!

港千尋 (Chihiro Minato) 攝影及活版文字展

1960年出生於日本神奈川縣。國際知名攝影家、評論家、影像人類學家，大學教授及藝術策展人。1984年早稻田大學政治經濟學系畢業，獲南美基金前往南美洲各地長期停留後，自1985年起，以巴黎為據點，展開攝影家及評論家的活動。1995年起任教於多摩美術大學資訊設計系及美術學系教授。舉辦過多項攝影個展，作品並獲法國國家圖書館、東京都攝影美術館及紐約現代美術館等館收藏。2007年任第52屆威尼斯藝術雙年展日本館策館人（同名展覽，並編輯《岡部昌生──我們的過去裡，有沒有未來？──光的黑暗面》）。中譯出版品《文字的眾母親》，由台灣商務印書館出版。
